Memphis Grizzlies’ Tony Allen and American Idol’s Lil Rounds to participate in the 4th Annual Goodwill Homes
Barbara J. Motley Memorial Walkathon
Goodwill Homes Community Services, Inc. has announced that Memphis Grizzlies star Tony Allen and Former American Idol Finalist, Lil Rounds, will participate in the “The 4th Annual Goodwill Homes Barbara J. Motley Memorial Walkathon”, Saturday, October 22, 2011 at the Southland Mall, in Memphis, Tennessee. Tony Allen will host the event along with former NBA standout, Todd Day. Lil Rounds will perform and WREG News Anchor, April Thompson, will be the MC for the event. Also participating in the event will be Memphis Mayor AC Wharton, Randy Wade, District Director for 9th District Congressman Steve Cohen, City Councilman Edmund Ford, Jr., and Dr. Beverley Taylor, owner of BodyWorks Fitness and author, as well as the award winning Westwood High School Marching Band.
The event registration/check-in will begin at 8:00am and the walk will begin at 9:00am. The community is encouraged to participate by being a registered walker, a donor or a sponsor of the event. Pre-registration will take place from now until Friday, October 21st at Goodwill Homes Community Services located at 4590 Goodwill Road, Memphis, TN 38109 or you can register online at goodwillhomesinc.org. Each registered walker will receive a gift bag, a commemorative t-shirt and admission to the VIP After Party located in the Southland Mall.
